WORK
PERMITS
(1) It is the UK employer who
applies for the Work Permit to
employ the individual, not the
individual themselves.
(2) In order to satisfy the Work
Permit criteria the individual
needs to have the relevant skills,
qualifications and experience to
enable them to do the job on offer.
(3) The job itself must require
either :-a UK equivalent Degree
qualification, or
A Higher National Diploma (HND
Level) qualification which is relevant
to the post on offer or an HND
Level qualification which is not
relevant to the post on offer plus
one year of relevant full time
work experience, or
Three years full time experience
using specialist skills acquired
through doing the type of job for
which the Work Permit is sought
which must be at N/SVQ Level 3

(4) Candidates
will need to supply copies of
their academic or professional
qualifications and/or references
from past employers that verify
the person’s relevant work
experience.
(5) In most cases the employer
will need to have carried out a
recruitment search, usually by
advertising the post on offer.
As part of the service we offer
to employers, we will review the
proposed advertisement and advise
them of where that advertisement
should be placed.
(6) A Work Permit can be obtained
for a maximum period of 5 years.
After 4 years of having a Work
